Do you have before or after care for my child?
Yes, we offer early drop off starting at 8:30am and extend pick up until 3:30pm for your convenience. There is an additional $50.00 charge per week. We are unfortunately unable to cater to requests outside of these hours. Please notify us at time of registration.
How long will my child get to ride each day?
Our riding lessons are typically 45 minutes in length. Some lessons are slightly shorter and others longer depending on what we need to accomplish and the children's attention span.
What does my child need to bring to camp? Any special equipment?
Your child will need to have a backpack daily with: lunch, full water bottle (or two!), sunscreen, bug spray, change of clothes, a helmet & boots suitable for riding. A detailed what to bring list is provided upon registration.
Lunch....
Please ensure you pack your child with more food then you believe they will require. The barn does stay cool in the summer, but if you are packing foods that should stay cold, make sure you add an ice pack. High energy & slow burning foods are best. Please be waste conscious. Pack foods in re-usable labelled containers. We strive to promote a healthy environment and are trying to lessen our environmental impact. DO NOT send your child with pop or candy please. Please note that we cannot provide any food to campers. Water is always available.
Can I stay with my child at camp to watch them ride and see what they get to do during the day?
We ask parents to treat camp like school. Staying with the child at camp tends to discourage them from participating fully in activities and finding a camp friend. We have developed our Friday Fun Day for parents to be able to see their children ride.
My child has minor developmental/behavioral issues, can they still come to camp?
Please call us. This is a case by case basis. While our staff our well equipped to run a fun and effective camp under normal circumstances, we are not able to provide specific "one on one" care to high needs children. We have in the past had children attend with an aid. Again, please call to discuss your needs.
Do you have a dedicated First Aid person?
Our adult staff are trained in First Aid and CPR. We keep a well stocked First Aid kit for small incidents & emergencies.
Will my child enjoy coming to more then one camp?
YES! We have many of our campers that come to one or more camps over the course of the summer. The great thing is, we see a lot of progression in the childs riding and horsemanship skills. Most kids who return for a second (or third!) week find they advance up a riding group each time.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
-The deposit amount of $150 is non-refundable, non-transferable.
-Should you need to withdraw from camp, the remaining balance will be refundable up to 30 days prior to the start date of your camp. In the case of a medical emergency, where the rider themselves cannot attend the camp, a doctors note outlining the reasoning will permit a refund, less deposit.
-There will be no refunds or changes to your registration 30 days prior to your camp start date.
- We will do our best to accommodate week switches if required. No changes will be accepted after 30 days prior to your camp start date.
- If a camper is excused from the camp for any reason, there are no refunds or credits given.
